Multi-Speed Transmissions

IEdrives offers automated manual transmissions (AMT) specifically designed to meet the requirements for each weight class vehicle, from Class 3 to Class 8

High RPM - Medium & Heavy Duty Two Speed

EVT2-R Heavy Duty AMT

IEdrives EVT2-R is designed to meet the needs of class 8 and class 7 trucks and buses that use traction motors with peak output torque in the 1,500Nm range. These motors typically also spin faster, up to 7,000 rpm, than the very high torque motors of Severe Duty. The EVT2-R input can be configured to allow compact integration with a traction motor that has either a male or female output shaft. Because the motor peak output torque is reduced, the EVT2-R can provide aggressive 1st gear torque multiplication, up to 9,500Nm, ensuring excellent vehicle gradeability.

2nd gear ratios allow for this same truck or bus to also be able to reach the vehicles required highway speeds. Another significant advantage of all of IEdrives’ multiple speed transmissions in our comparatively very compact design that easily allows for between the frame rails mounting, close to the drive axle, yet still providing excellent ground clearance. This is true for vehicles all the way down to class 6 in size.

High Torque - Severe Duty Two Speed

EVT2-RHT Severe Duty AMT

IEdrives EVT2-RHT is specifically designed to meet the needs of the heaviest class 8 trucks that also need steep hill climbing capability.

The EVT2-RHT is designed to be integrated with very high output torque motors, up to 3,000Nm input. This transmission’s 1st gear is then able to further multiple that torque up to 15,000Nm into the driveshaft. 2nd gear allows for this same severe duty truck to also be able to reach the vehicles required highway speeds.

EVT2-LDPB e-Parking Brake Option

IEdrives EVT2-LD is a 200kW continuous capable transmission that is designed to meet the needs of class 3 thru class 5 trucks and shuttle buses. These vehicles typically use smaller, high rpm traction motors with peak output torque in the 300-500Nm range. These motors typically spin up to 7,000 rpm and frequently to 10,000 rpm. The EVT2-LD input can be configured to allow compact integration with a traction motor that has either a male or female output shaft.

2nd gear ratios allow for this same truck or bus to also be able to reach the vehicles required highway speeds. Another significant advantage of all of IEdrives’ multiple speed transmissions is our very compact design that easily allows for between the frame rails mounting, yet still providing excellent ground clearance.
